What is Line a Day?
Line a Day is a minimalist journaling app where you write one brief entry each day. It keeps things simple—just you and your thoughts, no distractions, no complicated features. No accounts, no cloud sync, no AI interference.
Do I need to create an account?
No! No sign-up, no login, no password required. Just install the app and start writing. Your entries stay private on your device.
Where is my data stored?
All your journal entries are stored locally on your iPhone using CoreData. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud or any servers. Your entries never leave your device.
What's the difference between free and premium?
Free version: Last 7 days of entries, current month calendar, basic insights, CSV export/import, app lock, daily reminders.
Premium ($9.99 lifetime): Unlimited history, full calendar access, all insights and stats, custom character limits (50-2000), PDF book exports (Week/Month/Year), "On This Day" feature.
Premium includes a 7-day free trial with no credit card required!
How do I export my entries?
Go to Settings → Portability → Export CSV. You can export all entries or select a date range. The CSV file can be saved to Files, iCloud Drive, or shared via email. This feature is free for everyone!
Can I import entries from another app?
Yes! Go to Settings → Portability → Import CSV. Select your CSV file and choose "Merge" (keeps existing entries) or "Replace" (starts fresh). The import feature is free for everyone.
How do I protect my journal with a lock?
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → toggle "App Lock" on. Choose Face ID/Touch ID or set a PIN code. The app will automatically lock when you close it. This feature is free for everyone!
What are Memory Books?
Memory Books let you export your entries as beautiful PDF documents. Choose from Week, Month, or Year books with three design styles: Classic serif, Modern sans-serif, or Minimal single-column. This is a premium feature.
Does Line a Day use AI?
No. The app doesn't write for you, analyze your mood, generate suggestions, or process your entries in any way. Your words stay yours—no AI writing, no AI analysis, no AI anything.
Can I sync between multiple devices?
There's no built-in cloud sync. However, you can export your entries to CSV and import them on another device. For regular backups, export to iCloud Drive and import whenever needed.
What if I lose my phone?
Since entries are stored locally, it's important to export regularly as a backup. Use CSV export and save to iCloud Drive or email yourself the file. This ensures you can restore your entries if needed.
How do I cancel my trial or get a refund?
The 7-day trial doesn't require a credit card—just let it expire if you don't want premium. For refunds on purchases, contact Apple Support at reportaproblem.apple.com.
