Privacy Policy for Feed the Penguin

Last updated: November 29, 2025

Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Feed the Penguin is designed as a simple, offline-friendly game with minimal data collection.

We do not create user accounts or ask for your name, email, or contact details. Game progress is stored locally on your device, and limited technical and advertising information is processed by third-party services like Google AdMob and Apple Game Center as described below.

What This Means for You

  • Local Game Storage: Scores, coins, unlocked scenes and items, and basic settings are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. We do not upload this game data to our own servers.
  • AdMob Integration: Feed the Penguin uses Google AdMob to show ads. You can remove regular ads permanently with a one-time in-app purchase.
  • No Personal Contact Data: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other contact details. Only game data and ad-related identifiers are used, as explained in this policy.
  • Game Center Optional: Leaderboards are optional and handled by Apple’s Game Center under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not store your Game Center profile or friend list.

Data Collection

Minimal Data Collection

Feed the Penguin stores game data locally on your device and uses third-party services for ads, leaderboards, and purchases:

  • Local Game Data: High scores, coins, unlocked scenes and items, purchase status (such as “Remove Ads”), and game settings
  • AdMob Data: Advertising identifier (IDFA, where allowed), IP address, coarse location derived from IP, ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, views), limited device information (such as device model, OS version, and language), and technical diagnostics
  • Game Center Data: Leaderboard scores and achievements, processed and stored by Apple when you sign in to Game Center
  • StoreKit Data: In-app purchase receipts and related transaction information, processed by Apple to manage your purchases and restorations

We do NOT collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or mailing address
  • Precise GPS location or continuous location tracking
  • Photos, videos, contacts, or files from your device
  • Microphone, camera, or motion sensor data

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Feed the Penguin displays ads using Google AdMob. AdMob is a third-party advertising network that may collect and process certain information to show, measure, and improve ads, including personalized ads where permitted by your device settings.

  • Advertising Identifier (IDFA): A device-level identifier used for ad personalization and measurement when you allow tracking via the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
  • IP Address and Coarse Location: Used to derive approximate region, prevent fraud, and comply with regional regulations.
  • Ad Interaction Data: Information about ad impressions, views, and clicks to understand performance and prevent invalid activity.
  • Device and Usage Information: Limited technical details such as device model, OS version, language, and performance or diagnostic data related to the ad SDK.

You can control tracking and ad personalization using the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt and in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. For full details on how Google handles data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

✓ Remove Most Ads

Purchasing “Remove Ads” disables regular interstitial ads during gameplay. Optional rewarded ads may still be available when you choose to watch them for bonus coins or rewards, and AdMob will process data for those specific ad views.

Game Center Integration

If you connect to Game Center, Apple collects and manages your Game Center profile and leaderboard data (such as your high scores and rankings). This information is handled by Apple under their Privacy Policy.

Feed the Penguin reads your leaderboard scores through Game Center but does not store your Game Center profile or friend information on our own servers. You can sign out of Game Center or disable it at any time in iOS Settings > Game Center.

Your Data, Your Control

  • All locally stored game data (scores, coins, unlocked items, and settings) is removed from your device when you uninstall the app.
  • You can manage tracking permissions in iOS under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • You can adjust sound effects and haptics at any time from the in-game settings menu.
  • Purchasing “Remove Ads” disables regular interstitial ads; optional rewarded ads remain available only when you choose to watch them.
  • You can restore eligible in-app purchases on a new device using the “Restore Purchases” option in the settings menu.

Third-Party Services

Feed the Penguin integrates the following services:

  • Google AdMob: Ad serving and monetization (Privacy Policy)
  • Apple Game Center: Leaderboards and player rankings (Privacy Policy)
  • Apple StoreKit: In-app purchases and restore functionality (Apple Privacy Policy)
  • SpriteKit/AVFoundation: Native iOS frameworks for game graphics and audio

We do not use separate analytics platforms or third-party crash reporting tools. Data processed by Google AdMob, Apple Game Center, and Apple StoreKit is limited to what is necessary to provide ads, leaderboards, and in-app purchases as described above.

Changes to This Policy

Any updates to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page. Substantial changes will be clearly announced within the app prior to taking effect.
